Wireless Outdoor Speakers – For Outdoor Music Lovers!

I am definitely a person who enjoys the outdoors. The feeling you get when seated outside in the garden can be very relaxing especially after a hard days work. Apart from that I tend to go out camping a lot with friends, and attend many get-together of family and friends that are more and more outdoor events.(I must confess I have a role to play in this by singing the virtue of outdoor experience with everyone I meet!). If there is a thing that I like as much as outdoors it is music. For me its not just the songs it is the musical tones and the amount of emotions they can create that fascinate me about music as a whole. I am not writing this guide to enlighten you on my outdoor explorations or music taste(although that would make a damn good article), I am writing it because I feel there could be countless people out there who loves both those pastimes and are facing the same kind of issues I faced when I tried to enjoy both at once.

I will start with a very brief introduction as to how and why I got hooked up to wireless outdoor speakers.

About one year back I felt not only must I combine my favorite pastimes, but make it an integral and exhilarating experience. I started out by using a pair of ear phones to listen to my iPod but soon realized it had three major disadvantages. First of all it blocked out the sounds of nature(e.g.: the water falling down in a waterfall) which are an essential part of relaxing outdoors. I wanted to have those sounds in the background while I listened to music. Secondly I didn’t want these headphones in my ears as they got on the way of work and jumping into the river or pool. Finally I wanted to share this experience with my family and friends.

This is when I started my quest for pair of speakers to keep in my garden permanently, and taken with me when going on trips. What I realized at once is that my old pair of speakers were not going to do the job as the requirement had two important criteria.

1. The speakers had to withstand rain.(rain is what I thought of at once although it is better to call it adverse weather)
2. They had to be portable.

Ultimately I found the solution in the way of wireless outdoor speaker. They were the ideal devices for my case.

Are they for yours?

Below I am going to highlight the advantages of wireless outdoor speakers so you can make up your mind if you had any doubts earlier.

1. They are wireless, thus there is no wires. For me this means that no longer I need to lay yards of wires across gardens, that had a potential health risk(you wont believe how many people trip over wires),apart from the fact that it makes the speakers completely mobile.

2. The wireless outdoor speaker is build with bad weather in mind. Although I must confess that not all models are build the same way most of them will withstand the frequent rains that are the main hassle. I have seen systems that are truly all weather. These can withstand torrential downpours, work under extreme temperatures(both hot and cold), and even has protection against sand storms that do occur.

3. The use of the 900 MHz band of frequency leave the signal with the capability to penetrate walls and other obstacles. There is no need to take your audio setup to achieve line of sight, just connect the transmitter unit to your audio player wherever it is kept. I know people who has kept their radio on the back room and inside a cabinet but still enjoy the music in the front garden.

4.Most of the wireless outdoor speakers are very easy to setup and you can literally be on your way in 5 minutes.

5. They are pretty cheap. Except the very high end models reasonably effective units cost from less that $100 up to about $300.

6. Finally my all time favorite is the sound quality. I would not lie to you, like anything else sound quality varies from speaker to speaker. The positive issue is that being wireless has very little effect on the sound quality. Many people believe that wireless just can’t have the same level of performance as wired, but that simply ain’t true anymore.
